Updates
We have a few minutes to kill while we are waiting to meet Emma and her parents at the bus terminal for our very exciting trip to Misuahilli for lunch and monkeys!
I just wanted to give you all a quick update on the number of times we have hitch-hiked and/or riden in the back of trucks. The grand total is now: 4!!! One time we STOOD UP in the back of the truck and held on to the roll bar. (Nathan posted the pictures already. They are the ones where our hair is being blown to kingdom come.)
Also I wanted to post a little how-to guide to taking cold showers:
#1 - Only take a shower at night when you get home from a long day walking in the sweltering heat that is the jungle.
#2 - Only put the part of your body that you are washing under the water.
#3 - Take a deep breath before you get under the water and exhale while you´re in it.
#4 - To wash your hair stand far enough away from the faucet so that the water is not touching you. Then, arch yourself backwards as far as you can to try to only let the water get on your hair and not the rest of you. Eventually you´re going to have to stand up and then the freezing cold water will trickle down your back and there´s nothing you can do about that except scream. Just kidding. Scream silently.
I have found these steps to be the most beneficial. Or you could do what Nathan does….heat two pots of water on the stove and take a sponge bath! (no, I´m not joking.)
Well, that´s all for now. We LOVE and MISS you all!!!
Hey, Sorry I haven’t written more. Our computer crashed and we just got it back up. First Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that you have. I will never get to experience anything like this but hearing your experiences and knowing you are getting this great privilege is the next best thing.:-)
I’m so proud of you Jennifer and can’t wait to talk to you when you come home.
Also Happy Anniversary to you and Nathan, again sorry this is so late.
We all love you and hope you continue to enjoy your visit.
