Adventure to Becker and Mariana’s
Today is Wednesday, August 22nd. We went in service yesterday in el campo (the country). The best thing I want to tell you about are the little girls I was partnered with. Diana and Karen. Karen is the daughter of the new family who moved in the week before us. Both her parents are pioneers and her dad is a Servant. She is 11 years old and got baptized August of 2005. Diana is the sister of Ivan, the one who got baptized last weekend. She is 13 and is a brand new publisher this month. Anyway, Diana was scared of talking at the door so Karen stood right beside her and whispered things to her, like, “Don’t forget to get their name.” or “Read a scripture too.” It was too adorable! Karen is amazing at the doors!!! For one thing, she is completely fluent in Spanish!
Seriously, though, she just spouts out scriptures and has no fear. That really warmed my heart.
Nathan started four studies and I started one, but my girl lives in Ambato and was just here visiting, so that’s no good. But, one of the ones Nathan started was with a woman so I get to have that one! She is the sister of a brother in our cong. But, she said she didn’t have the Que Exige (Require) brochure so we left that with her and when our shipment of Que Ensena (Bible Teach) books comes in we will start her on that.
After service, we went for an adventure to Becker and Mariana’s house in the country. They have a gigantic garden that they don’t even think is big. They also have tons of animals. Nathan had a BLAST!!! (of course I have pictures and video!) Anyway, basically we went shopping in their garden and got all kinds of stuff. Three different kinds of lettuce, avacados, blackberries, fruit that I don’t even know what it is, and more things I can’t remember. But, we had a really nice time.
Love you all,
Jennifer
Wonderful fruits & vegetables?! Well then. Sounds like the ‘fishing’ is successful, too!!! Thanks for the encouraging update.
I thought it was winter there. How is there fruits & vegies? That is great, wish I had some blackberries. We enjoy your stories.
